Subject Areas

The programme involves a wide variety of subject areas of common interest, in order to promote both small-scale projects and local projects at Greater Region level within the three core areas:

• Core area 1:
Enhancing and promoting the competitiveness of the interregional economy, supporting innovations and promoting the job market.

• Core area 2:
Improving the quality of life, increasing the attractiveness of the individual areas and protecting the environment.

• Core area 3:
Supporting the acquisition and dissemination of knowledge, using cultural resources and strengthening social cohesion.

Features of a Cross-border Project

A project is a cross-border one when it has been developed in partnership in the programme’s territory by at least two project partners from 2 different member states or by a cross-border institution. This is an essential criterion for the eligibility of any project.

Programme Funding

The programme has a total budget of Euro 106 million at its disposal from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). In general, projects are sponsored to a rate of 50% maximum

The 11 Programme Partners

The programme partners are the region of Wallonia, the French and German speaking community of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the German Länder of Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate, the Prefecture of the region of Lorraine, the Regional Council of Lorraine, the General Councils of the departments Moselle, Meuse and Meurthe-et-Moselle.
